Belastaff SS17
18 September 2016 at the Victoria House, is where took place the launch of the new collection during London Fashion Week. Belstaff is a modern British heritage brand steeped in the spirit of adventure, protecting independent spirits to venture free.
This collection made by Liv Tyler was able to capture the vibe of the English countryside at the end of 1960s/start of 70s and the rock’ n’ ‘roll characters that were main during that time. Shapes and silhouettes are one of the main points again, the palette reflects the summer countryside.
The soft tactility of the collection is the cropped and fitted leather biker jcket with epaulettes to a beautiful sage-green suede suit made up of an A-line popper-fronted skirt and sartorial jacket. There is also a visible military influence: a four-pocket trench coat in olive and sand, and a cotton olive cape, both of which are water-repellent. The shapes are more relaxed such a denim dress with four pockets.
Belstaff’s SS17 womenswear collection celebrates the centennial anniversary of an epic 5,500-mile motorcycle journey across America by Augusta and Adeline Van Buren, two fearless sisters who campaigned for the right of women to serve in the US armed forces as messengers and dispatch riders, and ultimately helped pave the way for the female vote. They innovated different parts: from the outwears, to the leather wears to the sportswear.
