Louis Vuitton AW18: "The Rise of A New Horizon"

AW18 is a season with quite a few major changes in fashion. As this is Kim Jones’s last collection for Louis Vuitton, he made quite a grand finale with Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss.

Kim Jones started as Artistic Director since 2011, creating a new image for the menswear and bringing the expected collaboration for this luxury brand. The famous Superme x LV summer collection was a powerful switch for this brand gaining a younger, bolder, cooler group of audience and made another unforgettable moment for luxury fashion and street fashion. The AW18 collection is a remix of the Far East & Wild West, the eastern inspired prints running freely on sports leggings and coats, mixed with smarter but quite futuristic looking jackets made with metallic fabrics.

The world of climbing, which inspires graphic injections of neon yellow and go-faster orange- a type of colour that is always pop and vibrant in your visions.
This collection remained his strength of mixing sportswear elements with tailored garments. “It’s about clothes that can change, about fabrics that can travel on the body - and transform,” says Kim Jones, “Discovering something new. A constant voyage.” Voyage, the essence of Louis Vuitton, perfectly applied on this collection with the new Monogram Titanium suitcase and backpack, another desirable option for Vuitton suitcase collectors. Following with the new invention of Monogram — the house DNA has made into high shine finishing trousers, trenches, and jackets- Another lust for Vuitton lovers and quite a collective piece as shown on Naomi & Kate during the finale.
It is never an ending of an adventure, both for Vuitton and Jones: It’s a great beginning of a new journey.
