Sadie Williams SS18: The creation of a distinctive aesthetic
Described as a formulation of the disco and the meadow, Sadie Williams SS18 fused two seemingly contrasting elements- the glamour and the rustic-to create a multidimensional aesthetic.
Backed by foliage and tents, models donned jackets, coats, dresses, tops, shorts, trousers and skirts, all of which stood distinct from one another. Silver jackets and hats shimmered against the light and conjured up visions of a 70s disco, and a block colour sparkling cropped shirt and hotpants combo was paired with an oversized, patchwork khaki coat, creating an ensemble full of attention drawing elements.
It was all in the detail that rendered a sense of rawness, lace tie ups fastened at the seams of shorts, creating an intentionally casual feel, boots were laced up with multiple strands of colourful twine, creating a raw, yet simultaneously wearable tone.
Through the application of patchwork and lace combined with bedazzled surfaces, Sadie Williams SS18 created a series of outfits that could be appreciated for many reasons.
