Christopher Raeburn FW18: "Sustainability" is gradually becoming the next "e-commerce"
"Sustainability" is gradually becoming the next "e-commerce", a vital message we would not neglect in our future life on earth, more or less like a movement- it is also a message delivered from Raeburn’s new collection “Immersion”.
Raeburn’s design pays tribute to his love of military wear and uniforms, and there are always something pop and fun, perhaps jumped out from designer's playful and explorational mind.
Designer’s signature has reflected in this collection with few collaborations: There is a bright combination of Royal Air Force helicopter winchman coveralls and anorak, also with the functional features: water resistant and breathable. Think about “REMADE” and “REDUCED” as a new branding; they are indeed some abstract expressions. REDUCE, RECYCLE, REMADE, then the eco-friendly pieces are born. A shirt jacket made by organic denim cotton, a shirt made by organic poplin, and extended to the floor: High quality recycled material such as recycled rubber, recycled PET coated polyester and scuba are used in this collection, another footwear collaboration with explorer brand Palladium - fashion with function.
For many people, the word “Organic" or "Sustainable" relate to a less fashionable outcome. However, Raeburn managed them well. An outline of seabird can be seen throughout the collection to offer the uniform inspired design more fun, so does the Russian naval blankets.
