Belstaff FW18: The strong “Made in UK” British roots & the energetic youth culture

There are two things to celebrate in Belstaff’s 2018 Fall/Winter collection: The strong “Made in UK” British roots, and the energetic youth culture.

2018 Fall/Winter collection is honouring the strong “Made in UK” British roots and the extensive archive. The innovation of this English brand reflects on the practicality of the garments for the harsh weather, just like those Trialmaster jackets initially designed for the Scottish Six Days Trial. This season showed Belstaff's all-time classics with a subcultural angle. There are pieces of evidence of reference in rock, music and youth culture during the 1950s on the garments: the acid-washed leather, old British flag prints on the leather jacket, then continue with the mustard yellow leather. The racing jacket never fades out from brand’s genes, and a red Scottish tartan lining just added more sparkle. Red tartan: A Scottish classic and also a punk signature. You’ll have a glance of that boy with messy hair in a piece brown vintage looking leather jacket, wondering whether he’s off to an Arctic Monkey’s gig after the show? And you will notice the girl in a biker jacket with leopard print detail, and an A-line zip-up skirt - Only the London cool girl knows how to work it off.
